ലോക സഞ്ചാരിയും എഴുത്തുകാരനുമായ എസ് കെ പൊറ്റക്കാടിന്റെ ഓർമ്മ മന്ദിരം പുതുക്കിപ്പണിയാനും മുളങ്കാടും പച്ചപ്പും നിറഞ്ഞ മുക്കത്തെ ഈ മനോഹര തീരം സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കണമെന്നും അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചാണ് ബഹുസ്വരം ചെയർമാൻ സലാം കാരമൂല നിവേദനം സമർപ്പിച്ചത്

Sub: Renovation of "SK Pottekkad Memorial"
First of all, please let us shower our rich kudos on you on being elected our representative from Wynadu parliamentary constituency.It is indeed a matter of pride for every keralites in general and Wynadites in particular to have an MP of your calibre to protect our constitution and the secular fabric of this great nation.
With immense pleasure we bring to your notice a memorial built in honour of renowned writer and traveller SK Pottekkad,a recipient of the highest literary award "Jnanpith" at the cultural hub of Mukkam.We thankfully recollect the unwavering support extended to us by the then Mukkam block Congress president Mr M T Ashraf to materialize the dream.Scores of tourists visit this beautiful location surrounded by rich greenery where two rivers converge.
But to our utter dismay we are sorry to draw the abrased picture of this memorial at present.Monsoon rains and flood have been inflicting heavy casualties on the building and surrounding compound walls for the last many years.Our appeal to extend monetary assistance to renovate the structure fell on the deaf ears of people's representatives.Under these circumstances we are left with no option but to invite your kind attention to look in to the matter and do the needful to protect the memorial and surrounding walls.
